Bomb blast in Embilipitiya courthouse: Three killed, over 30 injured, dozen of prisoners escape

(LankaPage) Feb 21, Embilipitiya: At least three people were killed and more than 30 others were injured when a bomb exploded at a courthouse in Embilipitiya this morning.

Police said an unknown person lobbed a grenade inside the courthouse about 11.05 AM, soon after the start of a hearing. Among the deceased are one prison guard, a woman and a man. The magistrate and lawyers inside the courthouse escaped unhurt.
