Prabhakaran Orders Tigers to Take NGO Officials Hostage

Prabhakaran has ordered to detain the remaining officials of International NGOs as well as the officials of the UN and other international agencies as human shields along with the thousands of internally displaced civilians. Up to 200,000 civilians who were able to leave the LTTE controlled areas have sought safety in government relief centers in Vavunia. Officials of the said agencies are said to be monitoring the situation and has raised concern with the LTTE as well as the government. The UN and other agencies has earlier said that the LTTE is guilty of keeping the civilians in harms way against their wishes and has requested the LTTE to allow the civilians to move into government controlled areas.
