President addresses election rally amid tight security

Oct 11 (AP) Elite commandos armed with automatic rifles patrolled a town in northwestern Sri Lanka on Tuesday to secure it for a speech by President Chandrika Kumaratunga a day after police found a sniper's gun and ammunition in the area.
