LTTE condemned for doctrine of violence by Thiruchelvam family

July 28 (theacademic.org) THIRTY years ago on July 27 the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) launched a separatist campaign on the Jaffna peninsula after gunning down Jaffna mayor, Alfred Duraiappah, who was also the SLFP organiser for Jaffna. It is also the sixth death anniversary of Dr Neelan Thiruchelvam, killed by LTTE suicide bombers on 29th July, 1999 in Colombo.
