Mourners, security forces gather for funeral of Sri Lankan journalist

May 2 (AP/Yahoo) Security personnel went on high alert Monday as hundreds of mourners traveled to an eastern Sri Lankan town for the funeral of a prominent ethnic Tamil journalist who was killed last week.

Police said they had made no breakthroughs in their investigation of the killing of Dharmeratnam Sivaram, 46, a columnist for Sri Lanka's Daily Mirror newspaper and a board member of TamilNet, a pro-Tamil Tiger rebel Web site.
