Govt keen on joint mechanism with LTTE

Mar 10 (SAMN) Despite strong opposition from the JVP, the government is going ahead with talks on the formation of a joint mechanism with the LTTE. Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar had briefed European Commissioner for External Relations Ms Benita Ferrero-Waldner of the ongoing negotiations with the LTTE in this regard.
