According to military sources, the 58th division of the army has captured 9 LTTE bases in the Vannakpullikulam area in the outskirts of Kilinochchi. The army has advanced into the LTTE heartland and are said to be within 4km of Kilinochchi. The military said that they expect to "fire its first rounds" towards Kilinochchi town next week.
